In a press release, the Reinach, Switzerland-based company said Furrer will take the place of Thomas Winkler, who is retiring after three decades in textiles. Furrer himself comes with 20 year's industry experience, after working for Clariant and operating in diverse functions across both US and European companies.

"Marcos was an evident choice when we searched for a potential successor for Thomas Winkler," said Archroma CEO, Alexander Wessels.

"He brings a good combination of solid textile expertise and managerial competencies that will put the business in line with our ambitious growth strategy."

The Swiss chemist Archroma was founded in 2013 to bring together the textile, paper and emulsion businesses of the Swiss colour giant Clariant. The company, whose business is mostly textile-based, has 24 production centres in 35 countries and employs 3,000 people.
