The debut in the Scottish city will come at the almost the same time as the label first enters a multibrand store via its recently-announced Partnership with John Lewis. That deal will see it opening in four of the chain’s department stores on September 13.

The Glasgow standalone’s opening will happen the next day with the debut of a 750 sq ft space on designer fashion destination street Ingram Street. The new location is situated in prime position next door to Mulberry and in close proximity to Gant, Armani, Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren.

Founder and creative director Victoria Stapleton said: “We have been keen to open a shop in Glasgow for a while now. When the stunning corner pitch became available on Ingram Street, we were quick to decide.”

While a Glasgow store is understandably important for a Scotland-based brand, there’s more to the opening than simple sentiment. Glasgow is Scotland’s ‘second city’ and is also widely regarded as the UK’s second most popular retailing destination. It has a powerful mix of big name chains and independents, and boasts a a catchment of over 1.8 million people. It also welcomes over 91 million shoppers to the the city each year.

Brora has 14 stores in some of the UK’s prominent shopping hotspots, including Sloane Square, Covent Garden, Marylebone High Street, Edinburgh, Cambridge, Bath and Harrogate. It also has a single international store in an ambitious location on Madison Avenue, New York.
