BuyBay has opened a new 10,000 m2 warehouse in the eastern city of Wijchen, the Netherlands. The company receives returns from major web shops, brands and distributors, such as e-tailer Wehkamp, Sony and Samsung, and then, grades and re-sells them.

With more than 3.5 billion product returns in Europe on a yearly basis, the demand for a company such as BuyBay is rapidly growing. Thijs Bosgoed, Founder and Managing Director of BuyBay said: “With the move of our warehouse, we will take a next step in the development of BuyBay. This gives us the opportunity to meet an increasing demand from partners seeking a solution to their return problems.”

The Dutch company has strategically opted for Wijchen, since the town is closely located to the German border, allowing for speedy operations in both markets. BuyBay previously raised an investment to allow for expansion to Germany, which is one of the most important markets for BuyBay. From the Wijchen warehouse, the products are shipped to all of Europe.

In August, BuyBay announced an undisclosed investment from Belgian equity firm, Fortino Capital. The company intends to open additional locations oversees in the near future.

Thijs and Erik Bosgoed founded BuyBay in 2014. Nearly three years after its foundation, BuyBay has 50 employees, and has reached annual sales between €10 million and €15 million.
