Coach to open at Bluewater this autumn

Bluewater’s high-end credentials may not quite match those of another Greater London area mall, Westfield London, but its latest signings will certainly add to its upscale appeal.

Coach

Most significant is the fact that accessories giant Coach is to open there in September, close to the House of Fraser anchor department store, in a 1,750 space on the Lower Guildhall.

The position is key for the brand as it’s just a stone’s throw from the House of Fraser accessories department where shoppers can find bag brands such as Mulberry, Paul Smith, Michael Kors, Lulu Guinness and DKNY that would likely appeal to the same shopper.

Coach will create an “authentic modern luxury look and feel” for the Bluewater boutique, including leather furniture and bespoke fittings to showcase the full range of men’s and women’s products available.

The news of the new store follows the opening of Coach’s UK flagship on Regent Street in the former Jaeger store and the announcement of its second standalone outside of London planned for Birmingham. It also recently opened at Victoria Quarter in Leeds.

Also opening at Bluewater will be natural beauty brand Neal’s Yard Remedies  at the entrance to the Village Arcade on the Lower Guildhall, and upscale chocolatier Godiva, which will open opposite Zara.

The mall, situated in North Kent, is the largest in Europe and has seen some interesting openings so far this year. The white Company has doubled its size there and Missguided has opened only its second physical store at the mall. Smashbox chose Bluewater for its first store in the South East and Gap moved its Bluewater flagship to a larger space complete with its denim customisation bar.
