Dutch fashion retailer Coolcat announced on Wednesday that it launched an e-store in Germany. The move is part of the retailer’s online and international expansion.

According to the retailer, there was high demand from Germany, especially from customers from cities close to the Dutch border. “Before the launch of the German web shop, occasionally, store managers, from Dutch Coolcat stores located close to the border, went to Germany to deliver packages. Of course, we had to respond to that,” said Mirela Belkoski, e-commerce manager at CoolCat. With the online expansion, Coolcat is now available to markets in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France.

Coolcat offers clothing for men, women, teens and children. Pricing starts at €2.99 for a pair of socks and goes up to €99.99 for jackets and coats. The retailer also offers accessories such as backpacks, caps, scarves and belts. In addition, Coolcat also sells gadgets such as the fidget spinner, popular amongst teens, who are Coolcat’s largest customer group. In 2015 the retailer opened a concept store in Tilburg, the Netherlands, focused on its main customer, which functions as both a store and an arcade.

Roland Kahn founded Coolcat in 1982. Today, the retailer has 124 physical stores and also operates via webshops. Coolcat is part of Coolinvestments, which also owns plus size brand M&S Mode; multi-brand store America Today; and lingerie brand Sapph.
