Footwear and accessories brand Dune London has stepped up its global expansion with the appointment of a new international director and the launch of several international stores.

The brand has named James Radford as its new international franchise and wholesale director. A footwear sector specialist, he has over 20 years’ experience working across five continents and 40 markets.

His most recent position was general manager for EMEA at British shoe brand FitFlop.

“James’ appointment comes at a very exciting time for Dune London as international expansion is a focal part of our overall growth strategy. James will be instrumental in the delivery of this plan by focusing efforts on specific markets with best in class support strategies and tactical initiatives which are regionally appropriate and perfectly aligned with our product and marketing investments,” said CEO James Cox.

In September, Dune added 10 new store locations in South America, opened its 33rd store in the Middle East and launched two standalone stores in Switzerland and Serbia. The new stores join the brand’s portfolio of over 350 stores worldwide.

In Zurich, the new store becomes the brand’s largest in the country and is located on the prime shopping street of Rennweg, while the new Belgrade store is in the newly opened Rajiceva shopping centre. This is the first location for the brand in the Balkans.

Daniel Rubin, Executive Chairman, said: “This is a significant step in our strategy to become the leading global affordable luxury footwear and accessories brand. We are delighted to have James join our board and fortunate to have extremely strong international networks and partners to ensure we continue to expand our global reach.”

Dune will be celebrating its 25th anniversary online and in stores in November.
