Mexico continues to attract international brands. The latest to appreciate the country’s potential is Herschel Supply Co, which has unveiled its first store in Mexico City.

The brand's first store opened at Mundo E, and is to be followed by a string of openings over the next two years - Herschel Supply

The standalone outlet extends over 1,076 sq ft, and is located at the Mundo E shopping mall. It is expected to be followed by the launch of five further stores this year, reaching a total of 15 by the end of 2019.

Herschel’s stores in Mexico will be operated by Another Fashion Company, a Mexican retailer that distributes international brands such as Adidas Originals. According to the company representatives, some of the new branches will be in Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

The backpack brand arrived in Mexico in June 2015 after signing a distribution deal with department stores chain El Palacio de Hierro.

The company, founded in 2009 by brothers Jamie and Lyndon Cormack, has been recently working hard to gain more visibility. As well as opening its first European store in Paris, Herschel Supply Co signed a collaboration deal with Coca Cola last year, partnered with the Major League Baseball and announced plans to open its first flagship in Vancouver in 2017.

The brand’s products can be found at 10,000 retailers and stores in 70 countries, including Taipei, Manila and Hong Kong.
