London trade show Jacket Required opens this Wednesday a new edition at the Old Truman Brewery and has partnered with collector Neal Heard to mount a showcase of 100 design-led football shirts.

The show will include a showcase of 100 football shirts - Jacket Required

Curated by Heard, The Art of the Football Shirt exhibition will present designs from directional streetwear labels including Palace, Patta and YMC and explore the links between team kits and how they fuse with the worlds of music, fashion and politics.

The pieces on display are part of Neal Heard’s own archive and have been featured in his book A Lover's Guide to Football Shirts, which explores over 150 original and super rare shirts from the iconic, to the sartorial and the obscure.

The Jacket Required Spring/Summer 2018 event will also see a selection of brands introduce a womenswear edit,
providing a platform for its existing exhibitor and visitor profile's female counterparts.

Nearly 300 menswear and womenswear brands are expected to present their Spring/Summer 2018 collections at the show.

In addition to the exhibition, Jacket Require will feature a Q&A discussion hosted by renowned industry experts. British journalist and media entrepreneur James Brown will host a talk with Neal Heard, fellow shirt collector Jesse Rabbeljee, and Design Heads at Adidas Football, Juergen Rank and Inigo Turner, about the significance of football jerseys for fashion fans.

Jacket Required will be held on 26-27 July at the Old Truman Brewery, London.
