Manchester Airport has launched a campaign to find high street and independent retailers for 60 new retail units as part of its ongoing £1bn transformation programme.

Work on the expansion of the airport’s Terminal Two started this summer, with the project envisioning the creation of an additional 167,000 sq ft of retail space. This means Terminal Two will be expanded to more than double its original size.

The new space will include a market area for pop-up food stalls and smaller independent outlets. The airport aims to fill the new units with a range of established high street retailers and independent and local brands.

The development of Terminal Two will help Manchester Airport accommodate 45 million passengers each year.
Stephen Turner, commercial director for Manchester Airport, said: "The transformation programme is a hugely significant investment for the airport as we look to create a facility that will give our passengers a world-class experience.

“As part of this, we have a chance to create a unique retail environment that will be memorable and engaging for our customers."

The airport will host two industry events for existing partners and firms interested in opening outlets at Terminal Two in November at the Midland Hotel.
