Mango plans to open about 60 new stores in China this year and double the number of stores around the world in five years from 1,400 stores that they currently hold to almost 3,000.

The CEO of Mango, Enric Casi, advanced today that the long-term goal is "to be present in all cities of the world, exceeding its average of three openings a week, approximately 150 new stores a year.

Despite the economic crisis, Mango has increased the number of new stores this year thanks to local facilities and the nurturing of the proposed 10,000 square metre 'outlet' project in Barcelona; its construction is awaiting certain permits.

During a lecture to NORD program students at the Barcelonan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a new concept of shop with various sectioned off sales points was detailed, Mango is working on this model which hopes to catalyst shop openings in the coming years.

The director explained that part of the success of the brand relies on the human and logistic factors which in May allow Mango to increase its sales by 13 percent compared to the previous year.
