Pitti Immagine will strengthen security for its upcoming trade shows, as it did last January, doing so notably for Pitti Uomo, scheduled in Florence from 14th to 17th June.

The Italian show organiser stated in a release that "it is working in concert with local authorities and police headquarters to ensure visitors enjoy the highest level of comfort, with regards to the adoption of Europe-wide security precautions.”

These will include more frequent checks at the show's entry points to be carried out by employees working together with the police, some of them equipped with metal detectors; the number of turnstiles will be increased, as well as personnel presence at the entrance, and bags and luggage searches will be carried out.

Extra cameras will also be installed inside the Fortezza da Basso venue, where the police will carry out regular, in-depth inspections of the pavilions, while the loading and unloading of vehicles parked inside the venue's perimeter will be restricted and monitored.

Pitti Immagine is also advising visitors coming by train to deposit their luggage in the left luggage facility at Florence's Santa Maria Novella station, and to always have personal identification with them.
