New York Fashion Week opened the famous month of fashion with a full Indian summer. But despite the blue sky, it was a city full of doubts and questions after several trendy labels such as Proenza Schoulder, Rodarte and Alturzarra left the big apple for Fashion Week in Paris….as if to forget these departures and the difficult political context, the designers wanted to play with colours and host big shows to prove their dynamism. An incredible highlight was certainly the Ralph Lauren show which was held at his house, in his garage, surrounded by beautiful engines which were echoed in the dresses. Another no less incredible show was that of Fenty Puma by Rihanna. Pink dunes and biker acrobatics just above our heads… and even Rihanna came to greet the crowd on a bike. Others to note were the Carolina Herrera show in the Gardens of the MoMA, Tory Burch in the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum and without forgetting Philipp Plein who came to show for the second time in NYC with a concert, a striptease and sexy top models on the catwalk. A big anniversary celebrated with humour and energy: 20 years of troublemaker Jeremy Scott with his fans sat front row from Paris Hilton to Chiara Ferragni, while the photographer Jean-Paul Goude presented his first show as Artistic Director at Desigual. As for top models Bella & Gigi Hadid, they took part in near to every show. True idols. Without forgetting Kaia Gerber, the daughter of Cindy Crawford, seen on the second day at the Calvin Klein show, making her first catwalk appearance. Finally to trends, pink, glitter and transparency for next season, with esteemed and praised silhouettes at Coach, Victoria Beckham, Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs.
