In October 2020, Beauteam, the company that created the MakeUp In trade shows for make-up innovation, will stage the first edition of Clean Beauty In London. The event is scheduled on October 12 and 13 at The Brewery venue in the British capital, and will focus, as the name indicates, on ‘clean’ beauty.

There is no official definition of what ‘clean’ cosmetics are, but in general the reference is to beauty products free from controversial substances that are both effective and environmentally friendly.

Unlike the MakeUp In shows held in Paris and New York, Clean Beauty In London will not concentrate on make-up alone, but will also be open to skincare and haircare products. About 50 exhibitors are expected to attend the event's maiden edition, showcasing their ingredients and innovations for the cosmetics brands visiting the show. Clean Beauty In London will also stage a series of conferences and workshops, to lay down the rules of ‘clean’ beauty and list the best ingredients to use and those to avoid.

The theme is consistent with the societal trend towards healthier consumption. Indeed, according to market research firm NPD, between 2017 and 2018, sales in the 'clean’ beauty segment grew by 42%.

Beauteam was founded by Sandra Maguarian and Jean-Yves Bourgeois and, in March 2017, it became a subsidiary of Infopro Digital, organiser among others of the Luxe Pack Monaco and Luxe Pack New York shows.
