Veilance, founded by Arc’teryx in 2009, is set to debut its first-ever foray into womenswear with a fall 2021 collection that will launch globally in-stores and online on September 15.

The debut collection includes 11 apparel and accessory pieces launched under creative director Taka Kasuga, who was previously a designer for Junya Watanabe of Comme des Garcons.

Combining minimalist values and attention to detail, the collection reinterprets staple womenswear with performance design rooted in outdoor technicality. Items include a premium ankle-length down coat, a rain repelling overskirt, and an ultra soft merino base layer, each reconstructed with practical, weather protectant purpose.

Veilance Women has been three years in the making and is described as “the ultimate solution for contemporary clothing with functional purpose.”

“We identified the most iconic pieces in a woman’s modern wardrobe and applied a complete technical re-design,” explained creative director, Taka Kasuga.

“Women often have to choose between designer pieces that are beautiful, but don’t stand up to the wettest and coldest conditions, or traditional outdoor apparel that is too rigid and harsh. Veilance women’s is the marriage of the two – soft materials and contemporary silhouettes, but with the industry leading climate performance that we’re known for.”

Meanwhile, Arc’teryx most recently opened a new retail store in London's Covent Garden for its Arc'type collection. It’s the first European opening for the brand’s micro store concept, centred around the Arc’types.
