ASOS has launched a rental edit for the first time with a debut on Hirestreet in the UK. And it’s an extensive offer — unsurprising given the overall size of the own-labels ASOS offers.

The launch comes as data analytics company GlobalData has predicted that the UK rental apparel market will grow by 62% this year alone and 164% between 2024 and 2026.

Hirestreet is one of the most prominent names in UK fashion rental and has exclusive deals with over 50 brands, including Nobody’s Child, M&S, Oasis and Warehouse

The new edit features more than 180 different women’s occasionwear outfits, including wedding-guest, bridal and bridesmaid dresses, which also makes it good timing as the weather has turned warmer in Britain and the wedding and event season is now kicking off.

The pieces are available to rent from four to 30 days on hirestreetuk.com as of Tuesday this week, with prices starting at £20 for a four-day hire, as well as with Hirestreet’s 2-for-£35 offer also operating.

They’re all selected from the ASOS own-brand line-up, including its labels ASOS Design, Edition and Luxe, and there are sizing options taking in Curve, Petite and Tall pieces.

The items have recommended retail prices ranging up to £275.

Jag Weatherley, Corporate Transformation Director at ASOS, highlighted the growth of the clothing retail market and said it offers exciting commercial potential while supporting the firm’s circularity aims.

And Hirestreet CEO Isabella West added that 'wedding guest’ is the firm’s most popular occasion category at this time of the year. She also predicted that “this will be our most popular brand collaboration to date”.
