France's Berluti announced last month the opening of its first boutique in Vietnam, as the luxury brand makes inroads in Southeast Asia.

The Parisian shoemaker said it has inked a deal with local distributor S&S Group, to open its first Vietnam location, situated in the 'French Corner' of Hanoi, at 57 Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem.

Opening across from the Metropole hotel, and next to the newly opened Capella Hotel, the new Berluti boutique design focuses on "luxurious simplicity" through wood and leather, according to a press release.

Behind a glass facade with a wooden frame, the boutique welcomes visitors with a leather wall highlighting Berluti’s art of patina and a unique chandelier inspired from the rice ladder field of Vietnam, for a localised touch.

The new boutique will display a complete range of men’s accessories, including shoes and leather goods.

Founded in Paris in 1895, Berluti has since built itself into global luxury shoemaker for men and women. In 2005, the brand introduced fine leather goods, before launching a complete clothing line in 2011. Berluti now has over 60 stores worldwide. The brand was acquired by LVMH in 1993.

S&S Group is a wholly-owned group of companies, operating in the luxury, automotive, arts and fashion industries. The group is the exclusive importer, distributor and representative of numerous prestigious luxury brands in Vietnam including Richard Mille, Audemars Piguet and Lamborghini.

Since 2013, S&S has been operating watches and jewellery multi-brand boutiques (S&S Knightsbridge) and mono-brand franchises in Vietnam.
