Dior opened the doors to a new temporary boutique on Monday on New York’s iconic Fifth Avenue and the southeast corner of 59th Street.

Spanning over two floors, the 6,480-square-foot store was designed to reflect the diversity of the Dior universes by bringing a wide variety of creations together in a single location. It was inspired by Dior’s Champs-Élysées flagship in Paris, borrowing motifs and colors centered on light silver and off-white tones accented with beige and pale blues.

Meanwhile, Cannage, a house emblem, evokes the Napoleon III-style with canework chairs on which Christian Dior would seat guests at his shows. The pure-lined motif is also evident on the Fifth Avenue store’s Versailles parquet oak and polished concrete flooring.

Finally, the boutique’s façade was designed exclusively for this location, with Cannage in different layers and scales, lit to create a see-through effect, while the selected furniture reflects the neo-Louis XVI style to evoke the atmosphere of a Parisian Hôtel Particulier.

As for the selection, the location will house women’s categories including separate category areas for leather goods, footwear, ready-to-wear, fine jewelry and timepieces. Similarly, men’s categories are on display, though there are no timepieces or jewelry, and Dior Maison is displayed in a personalization area.

The location will temporarily replace the Dior store on 57th Street between Fifth and Madison Avenues, where a renovation and expansion is underway.
