The Arts and Fashion Museum was founded in 1986 on the initiative of Pierre Bergé and the French textile industry. It will exhibit three hundred items of women's, men's and children's fashion under the creative direction of British dancer and choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. The exhibition is produced by Jérôme Kaplan with the assistance of Isabelle Vartan.

From Charles-Frederick Worth to John Galliano, to the Maison Margiela, Madeleine Vionnet and Gabrielle Chanel, the exhibition, sponsored by H&M, is designed to let the visitors travel through several eras, marking the evolution and the key moments in the history of fashion.
