German trade show OutDoor by Ispo, which was scheduled to take place on October 5-7 in Munich, has been cancelled due to the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the outdoor apparel and equipment sector’s supply chain and logistics. The event will be incorporated into the next edition of the Ispo show, scheduled on January 23-26 2022.

“The desire to meet again in person is keenly felt by all our industry’s professionals, but the current difficulties are forcing them to remain in their jobs at their companies’ offices. So, from our point of view, it is preferable to integrate our conferences, round-table debates and workshops within the programme of Ispo Munich 2022,” said Klaus Dittrich, CEO of the show’s organiser, Messe München.

In March, Messe München and the European Outdoor Group (EOG) had already postponed the event from July to October, hoping to be able to stage it in physical format.

“I am proud of the concept and the conference programme developed by EOG, which was positively commented upon by the outdoor apparel and equipment industry. This is why I am very sad that the event cannot be held this year. The reality is that the industry as a whole is facing major difficulties, and it is hard for management teams to put their work aside to attend a three-day event,” said Mark Held, president of EOG.

The next OutDoor by Ispo show will be held in its usual format, and is expected to take place in summer 2022, FashionNetwork.com was told in Munich. The exact date will be announced in the coming weeks.

Exhibitors will not need to cancel the services they had booked with Messe München, since these will be automatically annulled by the organisers.
