The luxury brand has introduced its latest Paris Nouvelle Vague jewelry collection, inspired as always by the French capital and its creative spirit. Due to go on sale from June, the line includes around 20 new pieces.

For this new collection, Cartier drew inspiration from the fast pace of life in the capital and from Parisian food, architecture and parties. The spirit of the city shows through in the choice of materials and gemstones, as well as in the shapes found in each necklace, bracelet, ring and earring.

A tribute to Parisian women, the new jewelry line consists of three distinct subsets, each devoted to a different aspect of life in the famous city.

Tasty treats, leisurely walks and festive parties

Cartier chose three themes for its new Paris Nouvelle Vague line. The first, La Gourmandise de Cartier, is a nod to the culinary delights of the French capital, with rounded shapes calling to mind macarons or ice cream scoops, and long necklaces loaded with candy-like gemstones. The majority of these pieces are made of rose gold, though there are also some in grey or yellow gold, accented with sapphires, chalcedony, lapis lazuli, turquoise, aquamarines, moonstones, pearls, spinel and diamonds.

After this homage to tasty Parisian treats, the brand pays tribute to leisurely walks through the capital with La Flânerie de Cartier ("flânerie" is French for "strolling"). These pieces call to mind features of the Parisian landscape such as the Pont des Arts and its famous love locks, the domes of the city's best known monuments, and the gentle flow of the Seine. The line consists mainly of rose gold and yellow gold, adorned with amethysts, aquamarines, tourmalines and diamonds. In a luxury detail, Cartier's signature red shade is lacquered on the inside of rings and bracelets.

More extravagant, the Le Festif de Cartier range stands out for its moving parts, its oversized shapes, and, most notably, its vibrant and sparkling colors. Fire opals, lapis lazuli and spinel shine and shimmer alongside diamonds, emeralds, tsavorite, and pink and yellow sapphires.

These luxury jewelry pieces will be available in select stores from June. Prices start at €5,700 (around $6,500/£4,100).
