French mail order company La Redoute is keeping up a steady rhythm of regular seasonal launches. For this winter, it has recently introduced new capsule collections developed via external collaborations, and launched a maternity and a skiwear line for its own brands.

The Balibaris capsule collection - La Redoute

The first collaboration focuses on menswear, with emerging label Balibaris. It is a ten-item, limited edition collection of both office and outdoor outfits, combining chic, classic shirts with a parka or printed sweatshirts. La Redoute has gone more upmarket than usual with this line: the tee-shirts are priced at €65 and the parka at €495. The collection will generate further visibility for Balibaris, a brand that has stepped on the gas after investment fund Experienced Capital Partners has acquired an interest in it.

La Redoute's other winter collaboration is with Ladurée, targeting toddlers aged 0-3 with a collection showing a soft spot for sweets. The line includes bodysuits, pyjamas and formal outfits, all in pastel tones and decorated with motifs typical of Ladurée, such as Léon the dog, or with macaroon and pastry-inspired designs.

La Redoute has also decided to target the pre-baby segment, with the recent launch of a maternity line designed in-house and labelled 'R Essentiel'. Further proof of the mail order company's eclecticism is the recent launch of a mini-capsule collection of women's skiwear, introducing a new take on some vintage models, for a retro look both on the pistes and in town.
