Landsec may have had a hard time collecting rent from some of its tenants of late, but it’s been continuing to sign up new names and especially in the still-buoyant outlets sector.

The company has completed more than 48,000 sq ft of lettings across its outlets in recent months – at Gunwharf Keys, Braintree Village, Clarks Village and Junction 32.

That means it has completed 26 deals with 21 brands in the last 10 months across the four malls. The signings include three relocations and two upsizes, and feature a number of premium brands.

British luxury perfumer Penhaligon’s has opened a 400 sq ft boutique at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, joining Stance (570 sq ft) and sailing-inspired fashion and lifestyle brand Quba & Co (670 sq ft). Calvin Klein has also doubled its presence with a 3,450 sq ft dual frontage store featuring CK Jeans and CK Underwear, while Radley has upsized into a 1,530 sq ft shop, and Lacoste has relocated into a 2,100 sq ft space.

Landsec also said more than 22,000 sq ft of space has been committed at Braintree Village in Essex. That includes a 5,700 sq ft Calvin Klein, a 1,800 sq ft Kate Spade flagship, a 900 sq ft Kate Spade Clothing pop-up, plus a 2,600 sq ft Under Armour store, and a 3,000 sq ft Timberland. Also new to the mall are Jack and Jones (2,300 sq ft), Crew Clothing (1,100 sq ft), Lazy Jacks (1,250 sq ft) and Neon Sheep (1,500 sq ft).

In West Yorkshire, Junction 32 has secured four tenants, led by Neon Sheep, with the brand signing a new lease on its existing 1,900 sq ft store, and Baggage Factory, which has opened a 1,500 sq ft outlet. There have also been two relocations with Barbour opening a new 3,100 sq ft store and Urban moving to a new 1,500 sq ft unit.

Meanwhile at Clarks Village in Somerset, Calvin Klein Jeans and Tommy Hilfiger have opened 2,455 sq ft and 2,250 sq ft stores. They’ve been joined by Henri Lloyd (1,375 sq ft) and Lazy Jacks Clothing Company (1,000 sq ft).
