Finnish retail giant Stockmann is continuing to shake up its management team “in order to increase its efforts in developing customer-oriented digital business and customer experience,” it said Friday.

The company has named Outi Nylund as its new Chief Customer Officer with her areas of responsibility to include Stockmann’s “customership, brand development and marketing communications.”

She joins the company in May having having been K Group’s Director, responsible for the customer loyalty programme and data-driven marketing since 2016. Before that, Nylund worked in several managerial positions in marketing and customer relations at Veikkaus and Elisa, among others.

Meanwhile, reflecting the importance of digital to any retail business, the company has also named Anna Salmi as its Chief Digital Officer.

Her responsibilities will include Stockmann’s online business operations, information communications technology (ICT), as well as the development of the data-driven business.

Although she, too, doesn’t join until May, she’s already at Stockmann, having been there since 2015 and is currently the CCO in charge of marketing, digital business operations and ICT.

Both Nylund and Salmi will report to CEO Lauri Veijalainen who said the appointments “will further accelerate the development of our digital business in order to offer excellent customer experiences. There are positive signs in the air, but we need to pick up the speed.”
