Outdoor by ISPO, the Munich-based sport and outdoor apparel and equipment trade show, will not be held on June 28 to July 1 as planned, due to the global spread of Covid-19 and the health measures in place in Europe and specifically Bavaria.

Organiser Messe München admitted the cancellation was a difficult decision to take, but said that “by taking it, we assumed our responsibility for the health of our exhibitors, partners and visitors.”

Outdoor by ISPO’s  first edition was staged last year, showcasing about 1,000 exhibitors and attracting over 20,000 visitors. For the exhibitors large and small, the show is the opportunity to present the summer collections, while the ISPO show, a fixture for 50 years, focuses on winter collections.

Performance Days, another Munich-based trade show, held twice a year and focusing on high-tech sport apparel sourcing, has also cancelled its spring 2020 edition, originally scheduled on April 22 and 23. Its organisers are hoping to attract buyers by staging a virtual version of the event, currently live online, which lists nearly one thousand different materials and sourcing options for sport brands.
