Premium leathergoods specialist Radley London said on Tuesday that its products are now available via the Selfridges webstore with the department store chain's physical shops continuing to be shut due to the UK lockdown.

The luxury retailer's site is showcasing the brand’s new collection of bags and purses with the accessories firm having launched a small edit pre-Christmas and the full offer having just debuted.

It’s an important move for Radley with Selfridges being one of the world’s best known department store names that’s often seen more as a place to find the highest-end leathergoods from labels such as Prada, Dior, Chanel and Gucci.

Radley is pitched at a much more accessible level with prices ranging from £60 up to £300.

CEO Justin Stead said that “Radley is on a journey of elevation and this partnership with Selfridges, a true icon within premium retailing, marks an exciting step for the future of the brand. Selfridges is known for curating only the best brands and Radley will join an incredible line up, sitting alongside an array of household designer names.

“Investing in craftmanship and design, we believe our latest collections offer the ultimate in affordable luxury, with incredible bags built to last that deliver contemporary styling with timeless appeal we know the Selfridges customer will love.”

It’s also an interesting link-up because of both Radley’s and Selfridges' strong London connections. The department store is (in more normal times) a must-visit destination for tourists, while Radley frequently uses London-links imagery in its marketing and even in the design of some of its special edition products.
