According to a report from WWD, Robertson will be responsible for “creating and leading strategic initiatives that foster a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion" in her new role. She will report to chief people officer, Sarah Garber.

Prior to joining Saks, Robertson most recently served as chief communications and engagement officer at United Way of the Mid South, a non-profit based in Memphis, Tennessee that benefits low income individuals in the mid-South, providing resources for education, income and financial stability, and health.

Before her time with United Way of the Mid South, she served as manager, change leadership for financial services company First Horizon National Corporation; manager of community affairs and engagement for The Regional Medical Center at Memphis; and as a communications specialist for the Greater Memphis Chamber, among other roles.

Saks Fifth Avenue is the leader of the HBC portfolio, surviving through the Covid-19 pandemic and reopening a total of 40 stores to the public, including its Manhattan flagship, as of late June. Other HBC brands include Hudson's Bay and Saks Off 5th
