Scotch & Soda takes it to the next level in the United Kingdom. Already distributed in more than 200 multi-brand stores across the country, the eclectic Dutch brand has just acquired its first two own retail stores in London. As announced by Cushman & Wakefield, which handled the transaction, the deal involves two store fronts across the street from one another at 181 and 170 Westbourne Grove. Each location offers an area of approximately 90 square meters, one of which will be used for men's ready-to-wear while the other will feature the women's collection marketed under the Maison Scotch label.

The first two British stores could open as early as this fall, according to the broker's office. Cushman & Wakefield also said it was working on other potential openings in London for Scotch & Soda.

Great Britain is the fourth country in which the brand has launched a retail strategy, naturally following the Netherlands (18 stores), Belgium (10 stores) and France (4 stores). Scotch & Soda, founded in 1985, has developed both its own retail stores, such as in London, and franchises through its distributors, possibly surpassing thirty shops in 2012. For the record, Scotch & Soda was purchased in 2011 by the Kellwood group, owned by Sun Capital Partners.
