Skechers launches Bobs by Skechers

Bobs is the new unisex shoe collection, available from sizes 35 to 41 by Skechers. The updated version of the classic espadrille (about 39.95 euros) has been created in several designs to ensure the brand positions itself further into the fashion sector. But not just this new focus on style; through packaging made from recycled materials and as a fully recyclable product, Bobs embody a simplicity and respect for, and a commitment to, the environment. Indeed, for each pair of Bobs purchased, Skechers will offer a second pair free to a needy child in the States or abroad through its charity association Soles4Souls.

Skechers commits to this charitable scheme just as another American brand, TOMS did. A label launched in 2006 which launched espadrilles alongside its slogan "One for One", also offering a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair purchased. As of September 2010, TOMS has given over one million pairs of new shoes to children in need through giving partners around the world.

As for Skechers, whose U.S. category has recently signed a licensing agreement to expand its shoe collection with a range of bags and belts, achieved an operating profit of 42 million Euros in 2008 and 53 million Euros in 2009.
