Space NK has launched a new online platform offering virtual masterclasses with renowned makeup artists, Zoom skincare consultations and live Q&A sessions.

The beauty retailer founded in Covent Garden in 1993 launched the programme of online activities in response to the coronavirus pandemic, which forced it to shut all 60 stores in the UK in March.

The programme of virtual events started this Wednesday 22 April with a glam makeup masterclass with the brand’s senior pro-artist Arif Khan on Zoom.

Further activations include an Instagram Live session with Charlotte Tilbury pro artist Alesandra Macsim on Thursday 23 April, and a guided aromatherapy experience with aromatherapist and director of wellbeing at Aromatherapy Associates, Christina Salceda on Instagram Live on Friday 24 April.

Customers can also join the brand for a free in-depth one-to-one skincare consultation or an individual aromatherapy appointment via Zoom.

Space NK is not alone in seeing the pandemic as an opportunity to connect with customers in a new way. John Lewis, the UK department store group, has recently launched a number of virtual services including free virtual styling advice, and Good Outdoors, an outdoor retailer which has temporarily rebranded to Go Indoors is investing more in online content with a series of free online activities for the family.
