Located at NYC’s Javits Convention Center, the three-day event will be the first edition to be overseen by new artistic directors, The Donegar Group.

In particular, the New York-based agency will be tasked with pulling together the Texworld Showcase. Entitled “The Next Dimension,” this January’s Showcase will present visitors with textile trend insights for Spring/Summer 2021, and will be built around four different themes: Fundamental, Diaphanous, Alteration and One World.

The trade fairs’ overall focus on innovation will seek to showcase the ways in which the fabrics of today, including denim, cotton and functional fabrics, are evolving.

In line with this thematic anchor, the event will feature the debut of FashionInnovate, a new one-day conference aiming to continue the conversation started by last edition’s FashionSustain, by discussing the dedicated tools and innovative fabrics being developed to help the fashion industry become more sustainable.

This January’s wider educational program includes Texworld’s perennial Textile Talks, as well as a new Innovation Seminar Series offered by Lenzing Fibers, which seeks to discuss dynamic solutions to the environmental issues currently facing the industry.

“Despite the apparel industry sourcing challenges, we see Texworld USA as an opportunity for alternative sourcing solutions for today’s market,” explained Tricia Carey, Lenzing Fiber’s director of global business development, in a release. “The Lenzing Innovation Seminar Series includes topics ranging from sustainability, tech, and sourcing.”

Texworld will also be welcoming back Local Loft, a domestic supplier-focused area providing direct access to apparel fabric buyers, research and development specialists, designers, and fashion companies. The initiative aims to mitigate the need for speed-to-market by making it easier to source domestic factories and raw material suppliers.

One of the largest fabric sourcing events on the East Coast, Texworld USA covers 18 different product categories, and offers attendees both educational and networking opportunities.

Texworld and Apparel Sourcing USA will run January 19-21, 2020.
