Fashion from another galaxy was the talk of the industry in London last week with the star-studded event "Star Wars: Fashion Finds the Force" event.

Ten British designers came together to create garments inspired by George Lucas's famous space fantasy franchise ahead of the release of the movie "Star Wars: the Force Awakens" this month.

Christopher Raeburn, Claire Barrow and J.W. Anderson are just some of the designers who contributed to the collection, which is being auctioned off on with proceeds going to the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. Nasir Mazhar, Peter Pilotto, Phoebe English, Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, Thomas Tai, Agi & Sam and Bobby Abley complete the talented list. Each designer has created two Star Wars-themed garments for the auction.

Highlights include a Jedi-style men's hooded jacket by Christopher Raeburn, a Swarovski-embellished women's bodysuit by Claire Barrow and a printed belted dress by Preen.

The auction will run through December 2, closing at 11:59pm UK time.

An additional series of limited edition unisex sweatshirts and t-shirts inspired by Star Wars have also gone on sale at the high-end department store Selfridges, in-store and online.

The Star Wars UK collection follows the launch of a similar series in the US, which saw Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Giles Deacon, Halston, Opening Ceremony, Ovadia & Sons, Parker, Rag & Bone, Timo Weiland et Todd Snyder come up with their own stylish interpretation of the sci-fi universe, and which is being stocked in Bloomingdale's.
