Over the last 10 years, more than 30 brands, from Comme des Garçons to Diesel and J.W. Anderson have been associated with Tom of Finland, the homoerotic imagery created by Finnish artist Touko Valio Laaksonen in the late 1950s.

Tom of Finland x Rufskin's capsule collaboration

Very prolific, the Tom of Finland license led by Joakim Andreasson in Los Angeles, recently unveiled its second collaboration with the Californian brand Rufskin. Based in San Diego, the men's brand imagined in 2003 by the designer Hubert Pouches, associated with Douglas Coats, was inspired by the world of Tom of Finland to propose a collection of clothing in perforated matte rubber, some tank tops and swim trunks in the effigy of the heroes Tom of Finland.

Another brand celebrating the culture of Tom of Finland, Effenberg Couture, the Berlin underwear label of the designer Sarah Effenberger, always inspired by the club scene culture, revealed a few days ago a surprising collection of swimwear, shirt body, mesh tops, harness body and speedos to the glory of the cult characters of Tom of Finland.

For the summer 2023, the license Tom of Finland should reveal in the coming days new collaborations, including with the Spanish brand We Are Spastor, the variation of the label Spastor created by the duo Sergio Pastor and Ismael Alcaina, and already at the origin of a collaboration last November.

The French brand Carne Bollente, another regular partner with Tom of Finland, is expected to announce a new capsule collection, as well as Makia, the Finnish brand specializing in outerwear or the German fashion label Julian Zugerli.
